The 6 Line subway stops on the (Park Avenue South) corner. Four other subway lines stop farther west on 22nd or 23rd streets.
Madison Square Park (6.8 acre; 2.75 hectare) is 2 blocks from the school. The Park includes a playground and the Shake Shack restaurant. Bordering the park, are the Flatiron Building, the Met Life Tower, and the slender tower being finished at One Madison Park.
A new 15,000 square foot playground just opened at the north end of Union Square, about 500 yards from EINY. Union Square is also known for its Greenmarket (farmers’ market), every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
